Trailer Review – '2 States' featuring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor

There's another one in the so-called 'inspired or based on a best selling novel' column and this is Chetan Bhagat's third time when one of his books inspires a director to put it on celluloid.

After 'Hello' (based on “One Night @ a Call Center) and 'Kai Po Che' ( 3 Mistakes of My Life), Abhishek Varman's directorial pitch '2 States' trailer (based on Bhagat's novel by same name) is out for everyone to see.

A day after Alia tweeted her engagement invite with Arjun Kapoor, a new poster of the film was released and now the fans have the much awaited trailer also.

On Wednesday, Alia sent out a public invite to the "engagement ceremony" aka the "2 States" movie promo launch. The trailer of the film will release on February 28.

About the trailer: Directed by Abhishek Varman, the film is about a Tamilian girl and a Punjabi boy who fall in love with each other. While their romance blossoms and the two decide to get married, the film is about wooing not just your partner but his/her parents as well. Playing on stereotypical mentalities of a Tamilian and Punjabi families, the trailer has some funny lines. Especially one towards the end where Arjun warns Alia about "punjabi mother-in-laws".

If you have watched 'Highway,” then you won't miss a chance to praise Alia, who looks vivacious, lively and promising with impressive acting.

The trailer gets a vibrant touch with Arjun Kapoor's subtle polished acting skills, which you can't skip.

'2 States' will hit cinema screens on April 18, 2014 and also stars Ronit Roy and Amrita Singh.
