EFT Bureau, New Delhi: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Diamond Jubilee Year Celebrations function, to be held on Feb. 28, 2014 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, will be graced by the President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukharjee as the Chief Guest. Mr. Sushilkumar Shinde, Union Home Minister, Mr. R P N Singh, Minister of State for Home Affairs and Mr. Dilip Trivedi, DG, CRPF will also be present on the occasion.
In this function, CRPF song will be released. The CRPF song aims to bring out the valour and bravery in soldiers to make them resolute and determined on the battle ground. Mr. Javed Akhtar, India’s famous lyricist has written this song, which has been sung by noted singer Mr. Javed Ali and composed by Music Director Mr. Raju Singh. A Short film on CRPF will also be screened on this occasion.
The CRPF, the world’s largest paramilitary Force, is replete with examples of chivalry and valor and intertwined with the history of the Nation. The Force is entering its 75th year of glorious existence having grown from one battalion in 1939 to 228 battalions today. The Force has achieved the following decorations since its inception - 01 George Cross, 03 King’s PMG, 01 Ashok Chakra, 01 Kirti Chakra, 01 Vir Chakra, 12 Shurya Chakra, 03 Padma Shri, 49 PPF MMG, 184 PPMG, 957 PMG, 05 IPMG, 04 Vishisht Seva Medal, 01 Yuddh Seva Medal, 05 Sena Medal, 90 PM’s Police Medal for life saving and 01 Jeewan Raksha Padak.
