EFT Report, London: The transfer saga in the footballing world is heating up as the deadline draws closer, Arsene Wenger has been okayed a £19 million fund for wantaway Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain by the Emirates board. If the said deal is signed the 25-year-old Argentine will be paid a whooping £150,000-a-week, the highest among the current lot of Arsenal players.
According to sources, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has met Higuain’s father Jorge who is also his agent. This is not the end of it, Serie A champions Juventus are also set to renew their bid again for Higuain.
A prolific striker, who has scored 107 goals in 187 appearances for the Blancos’, Higuain was signed by Real Madrid from Argentina side Atletico River Plate in 2006. At the end of this season, Higuain insisted he wants to move away from Bernabeu stating that the club has been trying to sell him every season.
