Report by N. Lena Chand, Odisha: While in ancient days originally people introduced animal sacrifice as a way of on condition that ceremonial washing out for His people, those sacrifices were not able to cleanse man's sense of right and wrong from the effects of sin. Only the blood of Jesus Christ could remove the stain. The author of Hebrews in the Holy Bible taught in his letter that only by becoming a human could Jesus die, and it was only through his death that the power of Satan could be broken. (Hebrews 2:14-15) Jesus lived a perfect life, dedicated entirely to the plan of the Father, even to death. His blood was the only perfect gift brought into the Most Holy Place of heaven. (Hebrews 9:12)
At commencement, the blood is provided genetically by the father of the child. As the Son of God, Jesus was born with perfect blood. He was without a sin nature, just as Adam was prior to the fall. Jesus still had the freedom to choose, just as the first man Adam did. But the will of Jesus was united with the will of the Father, and he stayed without sin.
It's difficult to imagine Christ, the Son of God, the Lord and Savior of the world, bleeding profusely and being mocked by the crowd as he walked toward Calvary Mountain on Good Friday. It is even harder to think that Jesus allowed nails to be determined into his palms (or wrists) and on top of his feet. Such dreadful pain is immeasurable, but even that was easy compared to the pain Jesus endured when God the Father separated from him, and all the sins of the world -- past, present and future -- became his. That includes every sin of all the murderers, adulterers, liars and false prophets. Jesus took on the sins of thieves, of molesters and schemers -- every sin of every man, woman and child on earth. Now that was a load no mortal man should have to bear.
The holy presence of God can't dwell amidst the ungodliness of sin. Because of this, the fullness of God that had dwelt within Jesus departed from him, and Jesus was left as a natural man to suffer the fullness of the wrath of God. When the price for sin had been fully paid, Jesus breathed his last, and committed his spirit into the hands of his Father. His body was taken down from the cross before sunset and laid in a tomb.
Though Jesus experienced death, God did not plan to leave him there. Three days later, before sunrise, the Spirit of God raised Jesus from the dead just as He had promised. The enemy of death had been defeated. Because of his sinless sacrifice, and because of his resurrection, each person who believes can receive the same newness of life, and can boldly enter into the presence of God, having been washed by the blood of the perfect Lamb. When He resurrected, that day is called Easter Sunday. The purest meaning of Easter is the celebration of the resurrection or rising of Christ to heaven, which is the foundation of Christianity. Easter Sunday reminds all Christians of their heavenly calling and of the open door for relationship with God through Jesus, His Son.
