| Shakespeare's ‘The Winter's Tale’ |
The Winter's Tale is a transcendent work of death and revival, exploring irrational jealousy, the redemptive world of nature, and the magical power of art. Sweeping across two continents and two generations, it is a play of suspicions and secrets, with the mythic beauty of a fairy-tale. It has charmed theater audiences for over four hundred years and yet remains quite unknown and under-appreciated here in India.
Our production presents the text in all its vitality and in two languages - English and Hindustani - with an ensemble cast of actors from across the country. It is being staged outdoors, at Zorba the Buddha, a beguiling property just off the MG road in Ghitorni. The audience will move between locations as the play unfolds against a vivid landscape.
