EFT Report, Bangalore: The third milestone edition of ‘QuEST Ingenium 2013,’ India’s largest platform for budding engineers is back. Presented by QuEST Global, a global leader in engineering services, the company has announced invitation of applications for their annual intercollegiate engineering design competition. Noted Automobile Design and Style Guru, Dilip Chhabria was the Chief Guest last year and presented the trophies and cash prizes of Rs. 1 lakh, 50,000 and 25,000 respectively to the winning teams.
In its third edition, Ingenium is a unique platform for pure play engineering students to present their ideas to noted industry professionals and to earn the much deserved recognition and motivation. Final year students (pursuing bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology) who are passionate about engineering and aspire to showcase their innovation can submit their entries to campus.connect@quest-global.com. Over the past 2 years this widely acclaimed ‘Engineering Talent Hunt’ has grown in scale and popularity among the student community from far flung corners of India. The contest also recognized by Nasscom offers a host of benefits including recruiting winning and talented students onto the company’s roles.
The last year alone witnessed a 69% increase in entries, up from 123 entries received in 2011, and from a wider cross section of colleges. This is testimony to the popularity of this contest and the demand for such events where industry provides a platform for budding innovators/inventors to present their creative talent and engineering muscle. There are four stages to the contest. In the final stage, 10 top teams will be shortlisted and will travel to Bangalore to present their work to a panel of experts staffed by leading industry veterans. The students will also get the opportunity to meet with the judges, as well as interact with established engineers from QuEST (Existing and New Hires) who will share their hands on experiences with them.
Last year the jury team which selected the 3 winners included eminent personalities including Dr. U. Chandrasekhar, GTRE Group Director, Dr. Gopalakrishna M. Kamath, Stress Specialist, Bombardier Aerospace, Bangalore, Prof. Gopalan Jagadeesh – Department of Aerospace Engineering, IISc, Bangalore and C.V.Venugopalan, Chief Engineer, QuEST, Bangalore.
