EFT Report: Cesc Fabregas won’t be coming back to Emirates as expected as the Spanish star has completed his shock £30 million switch to Jose Mourinho’s side Chelsea. The former Arsenal captain has signed a five-year deal worth in the region of £150,000-per-week. The 27-year-old will wear the No 4 shirt at Stamford Bridge.
Former club Arsenal had the first-option buy-back clause as part of the £35 million deal which saw Fabregas return to FC Barcelona but Arsenal snubbed the chance to re-sign him.
Fabregas released a statement; Yes, everyone knows that Arsenal had the first option to sign me. They decided not to take this option and therefore it wasn't meant to be. I wish them well in the future. 'I considered all the other offers very carefully and I firmly believe that Chelsea is the best choice.
