Report by Santanu Ganguly: India Art Fair 2014 is scheduled to open on Jan. 31, 2014 and we want to draw your attention to one of the most dynamic galleries at the fair in advance .
Vadehra Art Gallery is a leading Indian contemporary art gallery, based in New Delhi with a unique offering - hosting regular exhibitions from both established and emerging artists, with a publishing arm, a Gallery Book Store, and the FICA Research Fellowship program, as well as an international affiliation with Grosvenor Vadehra in London.
During the 2014 India Art Fair, Vadehra Gallery has more on offer for both the public and art industry connoisseurs than almost any other gallery. With a major Nalini Malani solo exhibition in their Defence Colony gallery space, as curators of India Art Fair’s YES BANK Lounge through their Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art (FICA), and with the significant launch of Atul Dodiya, published by Prestel Verlag, launched at Max Mueller Bhavan and with an onsite launch at India Art Fair, Vadehra Art Gallery is significantly ubiquitous in India’s cultural capital this month.
To emphasize the gallery’s proactivity in the contemporary art sector, Vadehra Art Gallery has been nominated for an impressive three separate awards at the inaugural Forbes Art Prize as Gallery of the year, Curator of the year and Arts NGO of the year for the FICA Research Fellowship. Additionally, three of the artists represented by Vadehra Gallery Atul Dodiya, A. Ramachandran and Vivan Sundaram have also been nominated for Contemporary Artist of the year Award at the Forbes Art Prize. The awards will be held on the January 31.
There will be Atul Dodiya's book launch at 5 pm on Friday, January 31, in presence of gallery Director Roshini Vadehra at the fair.
