3rd Experimenter Curators’ Hub in Kolkata From July 26-27

Report by Santanu Ganguly, Kolkata: Leading Indian and international curators participate in the 3rd edition of the Experimenter Curators’ Hub. Presented by EXPERIMENTER in association with Pro Helvetia - The Swiss Arts Council and supported by the Japan Foundation, the Polish Institute, the British Council, Goethe Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, Take on Art Magazine and The Park Hotels. Launched in 2011, the Experimenter Curators' Hub (ECH) provides an opportunity for the exchange of thoughts and views as well as the possibilities of collaborations between the curators, public and private organizations and the various institutional frameworks that coexist in the art world today. ECH is recognized as a crucial platform which brings together thought leaders in the contemporary art space discuss, debate and present the key issues and thought behind curating exhibitions in the context of contemporary culture and the art market in India, and globally.

The 3rd edition of the ECH will be a two day event from 26th July 2013-27th July 2013 which will take place at Experimenter, Kolkata from 10.30am – 7.30pm. The hub will consist of individual presentations of 10 curators from India and abroad namely Alessandra Vintecelli, Che Kyongfa, Daniel Muzycuk, Girish Shahane, Kathrin Rhomberg, Nancy Adajania, Natasha Ginwala, Oliver Kielmayer, Pooja Sood and Sandhini Poddar ; which explores the development of their individual practices with a specific focus on exhibitions curated in the last two years. The final day of the event will culminate in a session for discussion where will see a coming together of Indian and international curators and the visual arts community, critics, writers, thinkers, artists, collectors, theorists and people interested in contemporary practice.
