Report by Preksha Sharma: Javier Bardem as the baddie 'Silva' is going to have a tough time handling Bond and his 'girl' in the franchise's next. If rumors are to be believed then Spanish diva Penelope Cruz has reportedly signed up to appear in Sam Mendes' follow up to Skyfall, which currently has the working title of Bond 24. Penelope will soon be seen slink around and seducing 007!
If confirmed, this would make Cruz the oldest ever actress to play a Bond girl - she'll be 40 when filming commences next summer, beating previous record-holder, a then-39-year-old Honor Blackman, who starred as Pussy Galore in Goldfinger in 1964.
Since always, there has been no hard and fast rules when it comes to Bond girls as the Daniel Craig-era has lesser known names like Eva Green, Gemma Arterton, Olga Kurylenko, Berenice Marlohe. And it's definitely going to be one amazing James Bond ride with Cruz, especially after her being a bit less active in a past couple years as she's started a family.
Skyfall is the highest-grossing film in UK box office history - taking over £1 billion on the year of the film franchise's 50th anniversary. And just when the series looks like 'ageing up', it will definetaly 'hotter' than ever!
