From time immemorial Jamaica has been the epitome of cricket in the global arena. The island has produced some of the world famous cricketers like George Headley, not to forget our favorite Courtney Walsh and current West Indies opener Chris Gayle.

Jamaica has been host to some of the most-watched international cricket series at one of the most famous stadiums in the Caribbean, the 12000 seat Sabina Park Stadium in Kingston. Cricket matches are still played all over the island and cricket remains a favorite spectator sport in Jamaica. The 1st match was played on 28th June between West Indies and Sri Lanka at the Sabina Park cricket ground in Jamaica. This picturesque ground is perhaps one of the most significant in Test cricket history. The Blue Mountains form a backdrop to the north, facing the George Headley Stand, with Kingston Harbour to the south. Sabina Park has the fastest pitch in all West Indian grounds, and although it has slowed down over the years, they have the ability to surprise batsmen.

The Men in Blue will open their campaign against the West Indies on June 30th in Kingston.

"Off to jamaica nw… Next mission ahead, had a lovely time in England....," tweeted all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja with a picture of his boarding pass.

"Jamaica welcomes us with bright sun shine and some lovely cricket fans. Not to forget hoardings of the great Usain Bolt," tweeted off-spinner R Ashwin upon arrival.
