UEFA Opens Disciplinary Proceedings Against Manchester United

EFT Report, London: UEFA, European governing body, has opened disciplinary proceedings against English club Manchester United following the club's Champions League 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid as Sir Alex Ferguson's failed to fulfill media obligations required after the controversial match that saw United’s Nani being sent-off. Red Devils also face sanctions over their failure to provide 2 players for press interviews after the game.

A furious Sir Alex had sent his assistant Mike Phelan in his place to fulfill the club's media obligations after the game. Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir gave a direct red card to Nani for a high boot challenge on Los Blancos right-back Alvaro Arbeloa.
