It is based on Sharad Joshis humorous, witty and extremely funny story BHOOTPOORVA PREMIKAON KO PATRA (loosely translated as Letters to Ex-Girlfriends). Late Sharad Joshi has been one of the greatest Humorist and Satirist of Hindi Literature. He has also written serials like YEH JO HAI ZINDAGI and feature films like DIL HAI KE MAANTA NAHIN. He was awarded with Padma Shree in 1990.
