These were Messi’s 52nd and 53rd goals of the season. Xavi and Iniesta were at their influential best as Barcelona dominated possession through-out the match. Xavi through-ball in the 55th minute found David Villa, whose perfect left-foot finish put the Catalans 3-0. AC Milan got their opportunity to break Barca’s heart when young-striker M’Baye Niang found himself one-on-one with Valdes but he struck the base of the post. Jordi Alba completed the 4-0 demolition in the 90th minute.

In another Champions League match played at Veltins-Arena, Turkey outfit Galatasaray broke German hearts with a 3-2 win (aggregate 4-3) over Schalke 04. Hamit Altintop, Burak Yılmaz and Umut Bulut found the net for Galatasaray.
