EFT Report, Pretoria: Anti-apartheid hero and former South African President President Nelson Mandela, who has a long history of lung problems, has been admitted to hospital with a recurrence of a lung infection. Mandela was released from hospital only 2 weeks ago after undergoing 'successful' routine medical tests.

According to available reports, this time doctors had to drain his lungs as part of further treatment for his lung infection. The South African government said the 94-year-old icon was admitted shortly before midnight, but gave no further details of his condition.
Mr Mandela, who is affectionately called
‘Madiba’, last public appearance on a major stage was when South Africa hosted the 2010 World Cup football tournament.
