Union Budget 2013: Six New AIMMS to be Set-Up

EFT Bureau, New Delhi: Finance Minister P Chidambaram today said six more AIIMS-like Medical colleges will start functioning by September of this year and Rs 1650 crore have been allocated for the purpose in one of the most highly anticipated Union budgets of recent years in the Parliament.

These new AIIMS-like institutes will start functioning at Patna, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Rishikesh and Bhopal. These institutes will give admission to just 50 students in its first batch. The number will be increased to 100 next year.
