Report by Santanu Ganguly, New Delhi: The Art Junction, The Lalit, in cooperation with the Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre inaugurated an exhibition of paintings made by invited (at the Art Residencies at Goa and at Sula, Nasik) Hungarian Artists on Feb. 20, 2013.
31 Works by eminent artists from Hungary Eva Pongracz, Istvan Burai, Frantisek Turcsanyi, Zsuzsa Gajdan, Joszef Magyar, Aranka Gerne, Julia Czegledi, Piroska Fikner, Hajnalka Balazs, Kata Katona, invited to the Nasik Art residency, are on display.
Imre Szakacs, President of the European Federation of Artists Colonies, headed the group of senior artists Ilona Deak, Tibor Brada, Andras Gaal, Maria Kiszely, Jozsef Buhaly, Jakab Forster, Orsolya Csuoros, Zoltan Laszlo Kiss and Gyrogy Verebes invited for the art residency at Goa are exhibited here.
The paintings on show are a manifestation of ‘live experiences’ of these artists of their visit to India. The bright colors, forms, curvaceous calligraphy and vivid expressions portray their feelings and emotions during their stay here.
Mrs Orsolya Kovacs-Jarmy was the guest of honour, accompanied by Mr. Tibor Kovacs, Director of the Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre, New Delhi and Mrs. Harleen Ahluwalia, Programme Advisor for the Hungarian Centre.
Mr Naresh Kapuria, Art Director, Art Junction began the inauguration by requesting the distinguished guests of the evening to light the lamp saying “ let us remove the darkness” followed by an applause of reciprocation by all present at the opening of the show.
The show is on till the March 15, 2013, daily from 11.00 am to 7.00 pm except Sundays.
