EFT Report, Panaji: The Fourth edition of Open Science Meeting of the International Past Global Changes community organised by National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean research (NCAOR), began at Dona Paula near Panaji in Goa on Feb. 13, 2013.
Dr. Shailesh Nayak, Secretary, Union Ministry of Earth Sciences inaugurated the four-day Conference. Speaking at the inaugural function, Dr. Nayak called upon the young international scientists to devise ways and means to arrest universal phenomenon of climate change due to global warming for the protection of natural resources such as air, water and others. Dr, Nayak expressed confidence that the four-day conference will go a long way to enhance our knowledge on global warming and how it is going to affect human lives.
Over 4000 delegates from 44 countries are attending the Conference that will discuss and deliberate on climate changes of the past. The Theme of the conference is "The Past: A compass for the future Earth."
