Linkedin Placements launched for Indian students

EFT Report, Bengaluru: The world's largest professional network, Linkedin, launched Linkedin Placements on Wednesday, aimed at making graduating students across India easily find their first job.

"Our conversations with students, placement officers and recruiters involved in campus recruitment point to an unmet need for efficiency and effectiveness," said Ganesan Venakatasubramanian, head, engineering, Linkedin India in a statement on launching the solution.

Developed locally by more than 40 Linkedin employees, Linkedin Placements enables students to apply for jobs from anywhere and anytime and stay informed.

The professional network is piloting Linkedin Placements first in India.

Infosys to hire 20,000 freshers from campuses

EFT Report, Bengaluru: Software major Infosys would hire about 20,000 graduates from university and college campuses across the country in 2015-16 as freshers, a senior company official said on Monday.

"We will recruit about 20,000 graduates from education campuses across the country during this quarter and train them at our Mysuru institute for five months," Infosys chief operating officer U.B. Pravin Rao told reporters here.

The company will pay Rs.3.5 lakh per annum to freshers during training and absorb them on merits as per its requirements.

"We have also increased monthly stipend for interns to Rs.10,000 from Rs.4,000 in a bid attract best talent and retain them," Rao said at a briefing on the outsourcing firm's financial results for second quarter of this fiscal.

Asserting that attrition had declined, he said on standalone basis, it reduced to 14.1 percent in second quarter from 21 percent in like period year ago and 14.2 percent quarter ago in the parent company, which has majority of software professionals.

On consolidated bases, including subsidiaries worldwide, attrition declined to 19.9 percent by September-end from 24.8 percent in same period year ago and 19.2 percent quarter ago.

"Attrition is no longer an issue in the company as it is under control and it is at the industry level on average," Rao said.

Though the company and its subsidiaries worldwide added 17,595 employees in the quarter under review, exit of 9,142 techies led to net addition being 8,453 and total headcount to 187,976 from 179,523 quarter ago and 165,411 year ago.

Gross addition was 11,889 quarter ago and 14,255 year ago and net addition was 3,336 quarter ago and 4,127 year ago.

Lateral addition, however, has gone up to 7,452 in Q2 from 5,886 quarter ago and 4,774 year ago.

On the sudden resignation of chief financial officer (CFO) Rajiv Bansal and its acceptance with immediate effect, chief executive Vishal Sikka said it was a personal decision and normal in any company.

"In course of life of an individual or a company, people joining and leaving are normal and happen naturally as in my case when I left (German software major) SAP after a decade there. Bansal is leaving for better opportunities and wants to do something on his own," he said, playing down the exit.

Company's head of strategic operations M.D. Ranganath will be the new CFO from Tuesday though Bansal will continue as an advisor to Sikka and the board till December 31 for a smooth transition.

CAPF (ACs) Exam 2013 Written Result Declared

EFT Bureau, New Delhi: On the basis of the results of the written part of the CAPF (ACs) Examination, 2013 held by UPSC on October 20, 2013, the candidates with the under-mentioned Roll Numbers have qualified for Physical standards Test/ Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards Test. The candidature of all the candidates whose Roll Numbers are shown in the list is Provisional, subject to their being found eligible in all respects. The candidates will be required to produce the original certificates in support of their claims pertaining to age, educational qualifications, community etc. at the time of the Personality Test.  They are, therefore, advised to keep the said prescribed certificates ready.

The Central Reserve Police Force (Nodal Authority nominated by Ministry of Home Affairs) will intimate to the candidates about the date, time & venue of the Physical Standards Test/ Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Medical Standards Test, to be conducted by them.  In case, any candidate does not receive the call letter for Physical Standards Test/ Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Medical Standards Test (MST) by the May 20, 2014, he/she may contact the DIG (Recruitment)/Dy. The candidates who have been declared qualified in the written examination are required to get themselves registered and fill up the Detailed Application Form on-line through the Commission’s Website http://www.upsc.gov.in. Online Detailed Application Form will be available on the Commission’s website from April 11, 2014.  A hard copy of the On-line filled Detailed Application Form, along-with relevant documents like proof of date of birth, educational qualification, caste, Civilian Central Govt. Service employee, resident of J&K etc. is to be submitted by the candidates to the CRPF authorities at the time of conduct of their PST/PET/MST who, in turn, would forward to the Commission, applications, along-with supporting documents & certificates, of those candidates who have either been declared medically fit or their appeal for Review Medical Test have been accepted by the Appellate Authority in the CRPF. The Commission would summon only those candidates for interview who, after clearing the PST and PET, have been declared “FIT” in the Medical Standards Test.

Candidates are advised to intimate change in their address, if any, to the CRPF Authorities, Block No. 1, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003 and UPSC through letter or FAX immediately, to facilitate delivery of communications to them promptly.

The marks-sheets of all candidates will be put on the Commission’s Website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result (after conducting Personality Test) and shall remain available there for a period of 60 days.

UPSC Civil Services (Main) Exam 2013 Result Declared

EFT Bureau, New Delhi: On the basis of the results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2013 held by the Union Public Service Commission in December, 2013, the candidates with the under mentioned Roll Numbers have qualified for Personality Test for selection to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and other Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’).

Candidature of these candidates is provisional subject to their being found eligible in all respects. The candidates will be required to produce the original certificates in support of their claims pertaining to age, educational qualifications, community, physical handicap and other documents such as Questionnaire, Attestation Form and TA Form, etc. at the time of their Personality Test. The formats of SC/ST/OBC and PH certificates and Questionnaire, Attestation Form and TA Form, etc. can be downloaded from the website of the Commission. They are, therefore, advised to keep the said documents ready with them.

Personality Test of these candidates is likely to commence from April 7, 2014. Personality Tests will be held in the Office of the Union Public Service Commission at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069. The date and time of Personality Test is being intimated to the qualified candidates individually. The date and time of Personality Test of candidates being called for Personality Test will be displayed on the Commission’s Website http://www.upsc.gov.in. The candidates who do not receive communication regarding their Personality Test, should immediately contact the office of the Commission through letter or on Phone Nos. 011-23385271, 011-23381125, 011-23098543 or Fax No. 011-23387310, 011-23384472.

No request for change in the date and time of the Personality Test intimated to the candidates will be entertained.

The candidates are advised to notify changes in their address, if any, to the Commission immediately through letter or Fax at Telephone numbers indicated above.

The marks sheets of candidates who have not qualified, will be put on the Commission’s Website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result (after conducting Personality Test) and will remain available on the Website for a period of 60 days.

In terms of Hon’ble CAT directions, the result of one candidate (Roll No.190192) has been withheld and shall be kept in sealed cover subject to the outcome of the O.A.

Indian Forest Service Exam 2013

EFT Bureau, New Delhi: Following is the list of names with roll numbers, in order of merit, of the candidates who have been recommended for appointment to the Indian Forest Service based on the result of the Indian Forest Service Examination 2013, the written examination for which was held by the Union Public Service Commission in October, 2013 and the Personality Test in December, 2013. The list contains names of 85 candidates, including 29 belonging to Other Backward Classes, 13 to the Scheduled Castes, 06 to the Scheduled Tribes.  The list also contain names of 01 candidate each belonging to PH-2 (Blindness or low vision) and PH-3 (Hearing impairment) categories.

Appointment to the Service will be made by the Government according to the number of vacancies available and fulfilling of other criteria.  The number of vacancies intimated by the Government is 85 (43 General, 23 Other Backward Classes, 13 Scheduled Castes and 06 Scheduled Tribes).

The figures given before the names in the list indicate the Roll Number of the respective candidate.

The candidature of one candidate with Roll No. 117335 is provisional.

UPSC has a “Facilitation Counter” near Examination Hall in its campus. Candidates are advised to download and check their e-Admission Certificates carefully and bring discrepancy, if any, to the notice of the Commission immediately.

Rejection Letters citing the ground(s) for rejection have been issued through e-mails and also put on Commission’s web-site http://www.upsc.gov.in . In case any difficulty faced by the candidates in downloading e-Admission Certificates, they may contact the UPSC Facilitation Counter on Telephone Nos. 011-23385271, 011-23381125 and 011-23098543 on any working days between 10 AM and 5.00 PM. The candidates can also send FAX message on FAX No. 011-23387310. No Admission Certificate will be sent by post.

In case the photograph is not printed clear on the e-Admission Certificates, candidates are advised to carry three (3) photographs (one identical photograph for each session) with proof of Identity such as Aadhar Card or Identity Card or Voter Identity Card or Passport or Driving License and printout of e-Admission Certificate at the venue of the Examination.

Mobile Phones, Pagers or any other communication devices are not allowed inside the premises, where UPSC Examination is being conducted. Any infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future examination. Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items including mobile phones/pagers to the venue of the examination, as arrangements for safekeeping can not be assured.
