First They Came for Rushdie: Scientific Ambitions in an Age of Censorship Lecture by Siddhartha Mukherjee

Report by Santanu Ganguly: To Celebrate the occasion of his receiving the Padma Shri award, Penguin Books invite you to a lecture "First they came for Rushdie: Scientific ambitions in an age of Censorship" by physician, scientist and writer Siddhartha Mukherjee.

Siddhartha is a physician, scientist and writer best known for the 2010 book The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer.

For that work he won a Pulitzer Prize and The Guardian Prize. It was named one of the 100 most influential books written in English since 1923 by TIME and one of the 100 best works of nonfiction by The New York Times Magazine. In 2014, Siddhartha received the Padma Shri award from the Government of India.
