For that work he won a Pulitzer Prize and The Guardian Prize. It was named one of the 100 most influential books written in English since 1923 by TIME and one of the 100 best works of nonfiction by The New York Times Magazine. In 2014, Siddhartha received the Padma Shri award from the Government of India.
