Report by Santanu Ganguly: Sotheby’s London will present a selection of 300 fine jewels, led by stunning examples of Art Deco and antique jewelry. In addition to creations signed by some of the world’s greatest jewelers, the sale will be highlighted by jewels with important provenance, including exotic Indian jewels on March 26, 2014.

Daisy Fellowes (1890-1962) - one of the 20th century’s most stylish and glamorous women love for exotic Indian jewels which were so fashionable in the 1930s and 1940s is reflected in an enamel, rock crystal and seed pearl clip, probably made in Jaipur in the early 20th century. Designed as a peacock, this dazzling jewel is set with foiled back rock crystal and yellow gold foliate motifs and suspends a seed pearl fringe (lot 105, est. £4,000-6,000/ €4,850-7,300/ $6,600-9,800, illustrated right).
