EFT Report, Mumbai: Mumbai is geared up to celebrate the Women’s International Film Festival from Oct. 8–14, 2013.
Highlights of the Festival:
• Felicitation to Saroj Khan, Shabana Azmi, Deepa Bhatia, Honey Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Renuka Shahane.
• Bollywood celebrities to attend the festival are Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Nandita Das, Shaan,Nishikant Kamat,Sakshi Tanwar.
• Bollywood filmmakers to conduct the masterclass are Piyush Mishra, Sharmistha Roy, Aparna Sud, Rachna Rastogi, Honey Irani, Anjum Rajabali, Alankrita Shrivastava, K. U. Mohanan, Kamlesh Pandey, Ashima Chhiber, Dr. Achala Nagar
• Performance by Shibani Kashyap, Shilpa Rao, Rajashree Warrier, Abhilasha Chellam, Steven Samuel (``Youngest Drumming Sensation``), Barmer Boys and Vaishali Patil.
MWIFF is not about showing women in front of the camera, enacting her limitations by the society, but it is about breaking those limitations and showing what she can do, and bring it all with perfection.
MWIFF is dedicated to bring out such powerful women from our film industry and give them the spotlight they have always deserved. The festival seeks to exhibit the creative minds of the so-called weaker sex, to showcase the vision of their own, by themselves, through short films, documentaries, public service announcements (PSA) and feature films.
At the end of the day, MWIFF is all about promotion of the varied art culture of `Film`, which is an art in itself, from a perspective of a new arising medium- Women! MWIFF is dedicated to nurture, encourage, inspire and be inspired by the power-packed performances of women behind the camera.
