EFT Report, London: “Mela,” a Sanskrit word meaning “gathering,” has become a major celebration throughout the global South Asian diaspora. And now in its 11th year, the London Mela is Europe’s largest South Asian festival and a much-anticipated annual cultural event for the city.
The festival will have nine event zones “packed with contemporary, classical and new music, outdoor arts, dance, sports, fashion, children’s activities, food from around the world, craft and exhibitors markets, a giant funfair and a spectacular theatrical firework finale.”
Having sold out his debut date at the O2, Icon Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who is currently on his ‘The Voice from Heaven’ 2013 UK Tour will be making a special appearance at this year’s London Mela on Sunday, September 1, 2013.
