President to Confer National Youth Awards on July 4

EFT Bureau, New Delhi: The President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee will confer the National Youth Awards for the year 2011-12 on July 4, 2013 at a function at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

National Youth Awards, instituted in the year 1985, are conferred on youth each year who have excelled in youth developmental activities and social service. Selected young individuals are expected to possess leadership qualities and use them in successfully carrying out voluntary activities in the field of Youth Development. This award is a source of encouragement to the awardees, as well as an example and catalyst to others in future.

This year the awards are being conferred to 27 individuals and one organization. The award carries a silver medal, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 40,000 in case of individual awardee and Rs 2 lakhs for voluntary organization.
