With the launch of the seventh store in Karnal, Gobol has now expanded its presence in the tier 3 market, giving consumers access to branded surplus electronics from the world’s top companies including Samsung, Panasonic, Toshiba, Philips, Orient, Haier, Whirlpool and Sharp. The wide range of electronics that consumers can purchase at Gobol include LED/LCD TVs, home theatre systems, refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, microwaves, mobile phones, laptops and even personal care and kitchen appliances.

Consumers can choose to buy surplus electronics by visiting their neighborhood Gobol store or log on to www.gobol.in to shop for their favorite gadgets right from the comfort of their homes, and have the product delivered at their doorsteps. Consumers can choose from a huge collection of branded surplus, factory seconds, refurbished, carton damaged and new electronics goods at prices they can easily afford.

Gobol was conceptualized as a solution for the surplus inventory in the consumer durables, mobile and IT sector. As per industry estimates, the surplus electronics industry in India is worth US$ 1.5 bn. Speaking about the concept, Alok Mathur, Director & CEO, Gobol said, “In my industry experience, I encountered excess inventory or surplus as a big concern. There wasn’t any direct channel for the sale of such surplus inventory to consumers. The market was highly fragmented. Besides, players in the unorganized sector didn’t even communicate the right message to the buyer, nor do they deliver a quality customer experience. This triggers the need to build a dedicated channel to bring these products within the reach of the end consumer.” This organized channel was established by Gobol, through tie-ups with electronics brands for their surplus electronics inventory. This model offers a win-win solution for both the brand and the consumers. While brands can sell surplus goods, consumers can have access to first-class products at markdown rates.

Priced about 25 to 40 percent lower than their new counterparts, products on Gobol offer a good deal for consumers who are looking to upgrade to high end electronics without putting too much pressure on their wallets. Besides the lower rates, consumers also benefit from similar consumer experience as while buying new goods and the Assured Warranty offered. Gobol also has national service tie-ups and customer helpline to ensure best after sales service.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Alok Mathur said, “I am extremely happy to inaugurate our 7th store in Karnal which gives us an opportunity to serve the households and consumers of Haryana. This would be our debut in the tier-3 market, and provide us with the opportunity of catering consumers who aim at possessing luxurious products, but have to hold back due to the price barrier. Through GOBOL they would have the liberty to choose between a variety of products at a price which would suit their pockets and at the same time fulfill their desires. Our earnest mission at GOBOL here is to educate people about recycled and refurbished products, and clear the myth which they have about the image of these products.”
