Report by Preksha Sharma: Three years ago, their marriage created buzz with headlines but soon accepted by the community happily. And now, after three years of companionship, Glee star Jyne Lynch has announced that she will be divorcing her clinical psychologist wife Dr. Lara Embry.
In an interview to People magazine, Jane said, “Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter.”
Jane met her 44-year-old wife at a 2009 fundraiser in San Francisco, California where the doctor was being honored at the time. Soon after announcing they were engaged to be married, they married on America’s Memorial Day in 2010. The pair exchanged vows in a small ceremony in Sunderland, Massachusetts, which is one of the few areas in the United States where gay marriage is recognized.
Jane, who is currently starring as Miss Hannigan in Annie: The Musical, performed at the Tony Awards in New York City on Sunday. She has grown especially close to Lara’s daughter and spoke last March about her relationship with the youngster. She said: ‘My greatest pleasure is Haden, my stepdaughter. 'I am surprised how much love you feel and how you would do anything for your children.’
