Mumbai Wallbook Enters Limca Book of Records

Report by Santanu Ganguly: Under the aegis of Tata Housing and Development Ltd, Mumbai Wallbook, the first chapter of WallBook, a wall painting activity initiated by Brand Promotions India has entered the Limca Book of Records for the longest wall painted. More than 500 professional artists painted the 900 meter long wall from Mahim (W) to Matunga (W) on the Senapati Bapat Marg within five hours starting at 7 am on May 20, 2012. The record has appeared in the Paintings Chapter of the 2013 edition of Limca Book of Records.

Artists from various art colleges like JJ school of Arts, Raheja School of Arts, Rachna Sadan, Sophiya Polytechnique unleashed their creativity with the theme ‘Visualise Mumbai’ - Design your Dream City.

Some of the paintings that touched the spectator’s heart and soul at the Mumbai Wallbook were Futuristic designs like a flying autorickshaw, designs on a terror free Mumbai, mill workers issues, green Mumbai, education for under privileged kids and all the issues which Mumbai is facing and fighting for.

The WallBook is a mass wall painting activity initiated and owned by Brand Promotions India and supported by Tata Housing to bring professional, amateur and budding artists on one platform to showcase their skills and create an expression for a better tomorrow. The Mumbai Wallbook was the first chapter of the wallbook series followed by Delhi.

The Wallbook would soon enter south with their wall painting activity.
