EFT Report, Torino: ..its official, they are the best in Italy....Juventus FC clinched their second successive Serie A title (their 29th title overall) with a 1-0 victory over Palermo played at Juventus Stadium, Torino on Sunday (May 5, 2013) thanks to a spot-kick goal from Chilean international midfielder Arturo Vidal.
This win gives ‘The Old Lady’ an unassailable 14-point lead over second-placed Napoli, with only 4 games left to play. Juventus FC had gone into the match against relegation-threatened Palermo knowing only a draw would be enough to clinch the title. This is also the first time Juventus FC have won back-to-back titles in 10 years, excluding the titles of 2005 and 2006 which were subsequently stripped because of the match-fixing scandal.
For 33-year-old 'ever-kool' Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo (which was let go by AC Milan in 2011) the title is his third in three successive seasons and fourth in total, after he won with AC Milan in 2004 and 2011 and now with Juventus FC in 2012 and 2013.
