EFT Report, Mumbai: Emraan Hashmi starrer Ek Thi Daayan released on April 19, 2013. The film also has three beautiful ladies Kalki Koechlin, Konkona Sen Sharma and Huma Qureshi to accompany Emraan Hashmi. Emraan plays the role of a magician in the film and Huma plays his love interest.
The supernatural thriller has opened well at the Domestic Box Office. Though producer Ekta Kapoor had strictly zeroed the film towards multiplex audiences, it did open well at the few single screens where the film was released. The film opened to an average 40–45% occupancy overall.
The film has been directed by Kannan Iyer and produced jointly by Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj. The makers of the movie are open to making a sequel if the movie does well at the box office, according to reports.
Made at a low budget, Ek Thi Daayan is expected to recover the cost in a week or so. It is expected to pick up to greater heights in the coming weeks because of its interesting horror concept. Still, the film have to perform well by the end of the weekend to sustain a high box office collection.
