EFT Report, London: A big blow for all Kop fans as their star striker and top goal scorer of the season Luis Suarez has been handed a 10-game ban by the FA for biting Chelsea’s Serbian international Branislav Ivanovic during their Premier League clash last week. The match at Anfield ended 2-2.
An FA statement read: Luis Suarez has been suspended for a total of 10 matches after an independent regulatory commission ruled on a charge of violent conduct. The suspension begins with immediate effect.
The ban will sideline the 26-year-old Uruguayan international player from domestic football until September, but he is free to represent Uruguay at the Confederations Cup. Luis Suarez has until noon tomorrow (April 26) to appeal against his suspension. Liverpool FC are currently at 7 spot in the EPL standing and are hoping for a late-surge to finish in the top four (which give them a automatic Champions League’s spot next season).
