DLF LabourNet Skill Training Center Launched in Jaipur

Report by Santanu Ganguly, Jaipur: DLF Foundation—The philanthropic arm of DLF Limited, also working in the area of skill development and employment for the unemployed and under-employed youth—launched DLF LabourNet Training Center in Jaipur. The center was inaugurated by Ms. Gayatri Paul, Associate Director, DLF Foundation in the presence of and Mr. Rahul Shandilya, Manager-North, LabourNet.

The DLF Foundation has set up this center as a part of its mandate to launch 250 training centers across the country to train a million youth as a part of their ‘Skill a million’ program. This center has been set up in partnership with LabourNet which is a social enterprise that creates sustainable benefits for workers in the informal sector by offering them a platform to access services.

Located at Gopalpura, the DLF LabourNet Training Center offers short-term courses in beauty & hair care, electrical and sales. The training successfully integrates best-in-class room training curriculum. The center will open many doors for the local youth as they can receive training in vocational courses thus creating meaningful jobs for them.

Ms. Gayatri Paul, Associate Director- Programs, Head of the Skill Development Department of DLF Foundation stated “This new skill-development center at Jaipur is a part of the DLF Foundation’s aim to establish 250 Skill Training Centers across the country to provide quality training and certification for employment. DLF Foundation has successfully established the first 25 centers and I am sure that this employment linked training will enable the unskilled youth to attain the industry required skill sets and pave the way for India’s economic growth,”

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rahul Shandilya, Manager-North, LabourNet said “I am sure that this center will benefit the local youth and their families. We are looking forward to opening more such centers across the country to fulfill the wide skill-gap.”

DLF Foundation was set up with the express mission of empowering communities and creating opportunities for the underprivileged in areas of Education, Skill Development, cluster-village development and healthcare. These four sectors were identified as DLF believes that they are integral to the upliftment and better quality of life for the economically challenged sections of society.
