By Santanu Ganguly, New Delhi: The Embassy of France in India and the Institut Français en Inde, in association with the Alliance Française India network and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), host the second edition of the festival Bonjour India from January to March 2013.
A total of fifteen cities will play host to 150 outstanding cultural events. These will encompass all dimensions of cultural exchanges between India and France: art, literature, cinema, education, sports, fashion, photography and the performing arts.
The French Film Festival (FFF), part of Bonjour India 2013, will tour seven cities offering some of the finest contemporary French films. The FFF meets a demand by cinema-goers for productions other than those offered in mainstream cinema complexes. The festival seeks to establish an exhilarating platform for showcasing the various facets of French contemporary cinema in India, helping Indian distributors to promote French films and celebrate the growing Indo-French ties.
In collaboration with PVR Anupam Saket, the Embassy of France and the Alliance Française de Delhi will be organizing the French film festival in New Delhi. It will be held at PVR Anupam Saket 22nd to 24th February, 2013.
Six very recent French films will be showcased during this festival, ranging from animation to thriller to popular movies such as: “Populaire” by Régis Roinsard, “In the House” by François Ozon, “Zarafa” by Rémi Bezançon and Jean-Christophe Lie, “Hand in Hand” by Valérie Donzelli, “The Dandelions” by Carine Tardieu and “Camille Rewinds” by Noémie Lvovsky.
H.E. François Richier, Ambassador of France to India says “The excellent programme of films lined up for the French film festival during Bonjour India is set to mesmerize the Indian audience. Aimed at showcasing the incredible diversity of French cinema, we believe it will provide exciting emotions and develop relationships with our two countries in the field of cinema.”

- Entry is free. Seating on first come first serve basis
- Tickets (Entry pass) will be available 45 minutes prior to each show time at the box office.
- One ticket per person. Persons below 18 years are not allowed (except Zarafa).
- Tickets will be restricted to the capacity of the cinema hall.
- All films are subtitled in English.
