EFT Report, Chennai: Indian actor/director Kamal Haasan today announced the release of his controversial film 'Vishwaroopam' in Tamil Nadu on February 7, 2013 as he withdrew his petition against the ban on the movie in Madras High Court.
"Vishwaroopam" was due to release on Jan. 25, but was banned following objections from certain Muslim groups, who claimed that the film portrayed their community in a bad light. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the film was banned in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
