| National Science Day Celebrations 2013 |
National Science Day is celebrated across India on February
28 to honor the Nobel laureate—Sir CV Raman for his invention of the ‘Raman
effect’ on February 28, 1928. Sir CV Raman was the first Indian scientist to be
honored with the prestigious Nobel Award in Physics in the year1930. Hence, the
National Science Day holds a great significance for Indian Science and
scientific community.
Various activities are organized on this day, such as quiz
competitions, debates, lectures, exhibitions, in which college students, school
students and teachers participate.
