EFT Bureau, New Delhi: As expected, the ruling Naga Peoples Front (NPF) has retained power in the northeastern state of Nagaland with an absolute majority after wining 31 seats and leading in 7 other seats at last count out of 60 seats contested in the recently conducted 12th Nagaland Assembly election.

Congress has won only 3 seats till 2 pm and was leading in only 3. CM Neiphiu Rio won Northern Angami II seat for the sixth consecutive time by 12671 votes. Polling for 59 of the 60 seats were held on February 23.
