SRK finds Deepika, Ranveer fantastic

EFT Report, Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has hailed Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as fantastic actors as well as human beings.

At a promotional event of their upcoming film "Tamasha", the duo had dubbed the pair of Shah Rukh and Kajol as "palangtod".

When asked about the remark, perceived as risque, Shah Rukh said, "I look gentle but I am not gentle. We are married people, so don't talk like this. They (Ranbir and Deepika) are wonderful people, they are great co-actors. They are beautiful people. I read what they said. They have a big heart to say this".

Shah Rukh and Kajol's 1995 release "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge" was a cult film which has been a chartbuster for many years.

"We have been here since over 20 years and we (Kajol and I) have tried to give our best. We don't have this thought of working on it (chemistry). I think both (Ranbir and Deepika) on them are fantastic (sic)," he said.

That chemistry between Shah Rukh and Kajol is back with yet another love song, "Gerua" from Rohit Shetty's upcoming entertainer, "Dilwale", composed by Pritam, which the actor considers as the most special song from the album.

The 50-year-old actor said the makers of the film have made him look best on screen.

"I think director Rohit Shetty, Pritam who gave music, producers and all technicians put the best effort to make me look better on screen. They make me look like a lover, it's good of them to do that," he added.

Kajol, who was also present at the event, said there is no hidden secret behind the chemistry between herself and Shah Rukh.

"I think we just look at it as our job and we give our best," she said.

Echoing her views, the actor said, "We never thought of doing it (chemistry) in a special way. We looked at it like an ordinary thing. Over the years people have asked us about chemistry. We don't know how good we can be".

Besides Shah Rukh and Kajol, Varun Dhawan will also be seen romancing in the film.

"Rohit is going to give us two tickets for Iceland. We will go there and play the song in Ipod and enjoy. I don't think any actor thinks of recreating the magic they (Shah Rukh and Kajol) have. They have wonderful chemistry, they are best actors," he said.

Shah Rukh Khan turns 50, thanks fans

EFT Report, Mumbai: It was a scene right out of "Om Shanti Om" -- with a gleam in his eyes, SRK stood in a balcony of his house Mannat here, blew kisses to his fans, waved and smiled at them. On his 50th birthday on Monday, the Bollywood superstar was "humbled" by the love that his fans showered on him.

Cameras went clickety-click and lights flashed as seen in a video that the 'Badshah' posted on his Facebook page. There was a loud cheer and whistles from the crowd that filled the street outside Shah Rukh's house in Bandra here.

Even before the clock struck 12, fans had begun gathering outside, and the attention made the star be grateful for the love that his audiences have showered on him since over two decades of his Bollywood career.

It's this love that keeps him going.

"Right now so humbled by the attention and love being given to my birthday. Didn't ever realise living will be so beautiful. Thanks all," Shah Rukh shared on social media platforms.

At night, he even cut a cake with his family members -- wife Gauri, sons Aryan and AbRam and daughter Suhana.

"Happy birthday Shah Rukh... it's just us tonight," Gauri posted with a photograph on Facebook. The actor is seen cutting a cake with white frosting.

On his special day, SRK reached out to his fans to treat them with a glimpse into his upcoming movie "Fan", a Yash Raj Films (YRF) production.

"Today as I turn 50, I turn 25 again - for all the years of love you hav given me, I give you my most heartfelt creation. Gaurav the FAN. You and I are a belief," he posted.

The film, directed by Maneesh Sharma, stars SRK as a fan.

Its first 63-second teaser was launched earlier this year, but on his birthday, SRK released the second teaser -- a much-longer version -- for his fans.

YRF had earlier described the film as: "Two powerhouses. One special tribute. SRK in and as Fan."

And the new teaser shows that the movie can't be described any better. It's about Gaurav, a commoner, who's in awe of superstar Aryan Khanna -- much like several Bollywood buffs who worship cine stars like a god -- in India, which is one of the leading producers of films in the world.

Only a few hours after releasing the teaser and since bringing in his birthday, SRK shared: "It's been a few hours and I have received such unconditional love and wishes for my smile, I think it's time I find new reasons to smile from today."

A host of his celebrity friends, including names like Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan, Anupam Kher and Preity Zinta, took to Twitter to wish SRK. Some shared how the actor's journey from the small screen to the big screen has been inspirational; while others said his charm and warmth makes them consider him like family.

SRK, who has featured in a melange of action, romantic, dramatic and comedy roles through his career, is one of the most successful actors in Hindi cinema. His fan following is global, and his charm, unmatched.

With films like "Baazigar", "Badshah", "Duplicate", "Karan Arjun", "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", "Dil To Pagal Hai", "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", "Dil Se..", "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham", "Swades", "Kal Ho Naa Ho" and "My Name Is Khan" -- he has won his fans over and over again.

The saga will continue with "Dilwale" and "Fan". So, as he says in "Om Shanti Om", "picture abhi baaki hai".
