‘Yelli Jaritho Manavu’ Drama at Kengal, Bangalore
Yelli Jaritho Manavu
EFT Report, Bangalore: ‘Yelli Jaritho Manavu’ title has been lifted off from a popular song Yelli Jaritho manvu of the great poet Lakshminarayan Bhat. It is a story about a relationship outside marriage in a modern society. So what`s new? Nothing on the face of it. But retold very indifferently both as a visual and a narrative.

This story unlike other stories is unique because it begins or unfolds the end of a relationship. The protagonists of the story are Anagha and Ravi, both are married. Ravi is a freelance journalist married to Keerthi (A love marriage). Anagha is a sub editor of a magazine, married to a builder called Girish. Now Ravi & Anagha had fallen in love with each other two years ago despite their respective marriages. Ravi feels that Anagha is sensuous, sensitive, intelligent & mature woman and Anagha thinks that Ravi is intense, passionate, romantic, etc. They both had found in each other whatever they were seeking from a partner - so a saga of a happy romantic life - but now!!! Suddenly- Anagha first wakes up from the dream and realizes the strain of living an illicit relationship. As a woman she is more reasonable & practical and hence says stop! I can’t take it any further.

The whole story is a serious tension depicted in a light humorous way portraying the irony of life.
